I grew up in the west, but I love the South.  I love the history and the culture.  I love slow talking, courtesy, pecan pie, fried okra, old buildings, tall tales, drug stores that sell China, big porches, houses with columns, and magnolia trees.  I hope to plant one this spring on our property and I hope to live long enough to see it get huge so that each summer I can enjoy the large white flowers that cannot be ignored.  When I am an old lady, I hope to get just as excited as I do today when they bloom.  I will paint them in all shapes, forms and poses.
