Sometimes a client has a specific idea in mind that they would like to see transformed into a lasting piece of original art.  Go ahead, give me your ideas! I welcome commissions. I have been painting commissions for about 15 years, working in close collaboration with my clients to ensure that we see eye to eye on final products.  Here is the testimony of one of my numerous happy clients:

“Several years ago, my husband and I commissioned Nanette Heckler to paint a portrait of our young son.  This was the first time we had sought an artist to paint for us.  Nanette came to our home on a day convenient for us.  We headed to a nearby field where our son Caleb flew his remote airplane.  He flew that plane without realizing Nanette’s presence.  She, in her special way of connecting immediately with us as individuals, began capturing a moment in our son’s life that would be forever cherished.  She allowed him to be himself, not stiff or stifled, which is hard for young boys!  After that session, she later gave us an opportunity to choose from the many photos that she would use for a reference photo.  With that, she began to bring to life our son’s unique personality.  Her artistic representation gave our family a memory of a lifetime.  She gave us a high quality portrait that will forever live.”  Kim Rivers, South Carolina

I paint young and old and everything in between.  I aim to capture the wonderment and soul of the individual, not just copy a photograph. I like to meet the person if at all possible so that I can get a handle on their essence and personality.  Therefore, I paint from my own photos or from a person live so that the painting is done originally and completely by me.  Here are the prices of my portrait commissions:
